HBO has had some pretty bad luck recently concerning its most popular show, Game Of Thrones. Season seven of the series brought fans so many moments they had been waiting for since the show first began but one thing that wasn’t anticipated was episodes being leaked online before its original air time on Sunday nights.

HBO was threatened by hackers for money or they would leak the episodes. HBO did not oblige so for several weeks, every torrent site had HD versions of the newest episodes of the series. To make matters worse, one of the premium services international headquarters mistakenly released the show’s finale too early allowing people to download it and post it online. Add those big hiccups to paparazzi posting photos from the show’s production shoots that confirm spoilers and you’ve got a recipe for disaster.

According to The Morning Call via ScreenRant, HBO President Casey Bloys was speaking with students and faculty at Moravian College and explained that the series plans on filming four different versions of its big series finale in order to avoid spoilers from leaking. Check out his comment below:

“I know in Game of Thrones, the ending, they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that nobody really knows what happens. You have to do that on a long show. Because when you’re shooting something, people know. So they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that there’s no real definitive answer until the end.”

Actor Kit Harington explained how he filmed around fifteen hours of fake footage to confuse paparazzi while filming season seven, so it makes perfect sense for the shows creators to go to even bigger lengths to avoid anything from leaking earlier than its appointed time. George R.R. Martin, the author of the book series the show is adapted from, is still hard at work trying to finish the final two installments of the books. Not even diehard fans of the book series know how the story ends so filming four different endings can make anyone’s head spin.
