Angela Bassett Praises Black Panther; Tells Fans To Get Ready

It seems like yesterday that comicbook fans around the world had their wildest dreams come true after seeing Iron-Man, Thor, Hulk, Captain America and more fully realized in a live action adaption of The Avengers. As time passed, fans became immersed in the now iconic Marvel Cinematic Universe anxiously waiting to find out what new heroes would grace the big and small screens. From Falcon to Scarlet Witch, the expanding roster can make even the burliest of men scream like little school girls with excitement.

But one of the most iconic live action adaptions to date would have to be Chadwick Boseman’s portrayal of T’Challa, the Black Panther and heir to the throne of the African nation of Wakanda in Captain American: Civil War

Now we are just months away from T’Challa’s solo film directed by Ryan Coogler. The star studded cast became trending on twitter as “one of the most beautiful casting ensembles ever put together”. Angela Bassett joined the cast as T’Challa’s mother, Queen Ramonda and if Bassett’s acting chops are any consolation fans can expect an iconic portrayal of the character on screen.

While speaking with Entertainment Tonight about her upcoming roles, Bassett took the time to praise the film and assure fans that they are in for a treat come February. Check out her comment below:

“I am so stoked, so thrilled. It is going to be absolutely amazing. I heard a little word that as they’re putting it together that it’s just looking and feeling amazing and I’m just glad that all that we felt while we were making it is really translating to the screen. So, get ready, get ready. It’s going to be quite phenomenal.”

Fans have long awaited for Angela Bassett to portray a comicbook character ever since she turned down the role of Storm in X-Men. Surely portraying an African Queen makes the wait worth it.
