‘Power’ Season 5 Teasers Here!
STARZ’s Power just had its 4th season finale this weekend and like you, I’m still wrapping my mind around it! In our season finale recap, we touched on what to expect from the TV crime/drama series next year but show runner, Courtney Kemp spoke with EW and Deadline about what’s to come from the show. STARZ also blessed us with a gem in the season 5 teaser video below.
Here’s what Courtney Kemp had to say to EW about what fans could expect from Power’s 5th season:
“We were just in the writers’ room arguing and screaming, because we’re trying to work out these heavy plot beats…That’s really where we are now: What do we want to emphasize? What do we want to play with? I guess the best way I’d tease season 5 — it’s the season of the triumvirate versus Dre, and I think that’s going to be the most fun of all.”
When speaking to Deadline, here’s what Kemp had to say about where season 5 will actually pick up:
“It’s actually interesting because we just turned in the first episode of Season 5. Right now, we’re looking at it as a direct pickup, and it begins in a place of Angela trying to figure out, hey, what the hell happened here? Then from that perspective, then it’s all about Tasha trying to kind of keep Tariq out of trouble. It’s also Ghost, Tommy, and Kanan, obviously, being united in the same direction.”
Deadline asked about a big death in the show’s 5th season. Here’s what Kemp went on to say:
“Look, no one’s been safe on our show for quite some time, but obviously, the main characters have had longer lives. We are reaching the end of this journey, so the main characters are less safe than they have ever been before. So, of course, it can get worse, because no one’s been caught for anything yet. You know, there’s always another way that things can go badly on Power, but then also there might be some great joy and some great success. People might come out ahead. I don’t know. Maybe two of our characters are going to fall back in love. Who knows?”
