Playing one of the most popular Doctors in the history of Doctor Who isn’t enough for Matt Smith.

At the recent Fan Expo Canada, a fan asked the Eleventh Doctor if he would like to be in a Marvel Studios film and his reply was yes, with a caveat.

“I’d love to. They’ve got to ask me though, the swines,” Smith jokingly explained. “But it would have to be the right project.”

Doctor Who and the Marvel Cinematic Universe have crossed over in recent years, with two of Smith’s companions appearing in the MCU.

Of course Karen Gillan (Amy Pond) is Guardians of the Galaxy’s Nebula and Jenna Coleman (Clara Oswald) had a small part in Captain America: The First Avenger.

It’s Gillan’s involvement in particular that makes Smith a fan.

“It would have to be something that felt different enough to Doctor Who,” he said. “I love so many of those movies and I love Nebula, because Karen’s blue. With no hair. Anyway, I’d love to… If you’re listening, Marvel.”

If he got the call, Smith would not be the first Doctor in the MCU. Ninth Doctor Christopher Eccleston played Malekith in Thor: The Dark World and Tenth Doctor David Tennant is Jessica Jones’ disturbing Kilgrave.

Smith can currently be seen in The Crown on Netflix, which premieres its second season Dec. 8.
