‘Suicide Squad 2’ Production Delayed Due to Will Smith’s Schedule
Suicide Squad definitely had some “ehhh” moments but one of the best parts about the movie was Will Smith’s portrayal of Deadshot. It’s good to hear that he’ll be reprising his role in the film’s sequel and the movie is set to go into production next Fall!
Warner Bros. had a lot to unveil at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con with production updates for the likes of: Justice League: Dark, Shazam!, The Flash, Aquaman, & Suicide Squad 2. Now, due to Will Smith’s role as Genie in Guy Ritchie’s live action Aladdin, the movie will now go into production next year according to Variety’s Justin Kroll. Check out Justin’s tweet below.

DC has a lot on their plates as of now with their slate of upcoming blockbusters like The Batman and the Joker origin movie; after the success of Wonder Woman, Justice League definitely has some big shoes to fill. No word on a release date yet for Suicide Squad 2 but Jaume Collet-Serra is still in talks to direct the sequel.
