Shohreh Aghdashloo Joins ‘The Punisher’ in Recurring Role
Ahead of its premiere, The Punisher is revealing more of its cast. Academy Award nominee Shohreh Aghdashloo has joined the Marvel Netflix series in the recurring role of Farah Madani. She is the mother of Dinah Madani, played by Amber Rose Revah.
Farah is a successful Iranian psychiatrist who has lived most of her life in the United States. One would guess she gives her daughter, the Homeland Security agent, some insight into the motives of Frank Castle.
The Punisher follows Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) as he dispenses vigilante justice to the worst criminals in New York. Castle first showed up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in season two of Daredevil.
Aghdashloo, who currently appears on The Expanse as UN executive Chrisjen Avasarala, has also had memorable TV roles in 24 and House of Saddam
Marvel’s The Punisher stars Jon Bernthal, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ben Barnes, Amber Rose Revah, Daniel Webber, Paul Schulze and Deborah Ann Woll, and is set to debut on Netflix later this year.
