Justin Timberlake & Jay-Z Rumored for Super Bowl 51 Half-Time Show

Though the Super Bowl is still months away, preparations for it have already begun, especially looking for an act to fill the coveted and halftime show slot. Lady Gaga took the stage this year, Coldplay, Bruno Mars and Yonce tore it up in 2015, and 2014 gave us Katy Perry, Lenny Kravitz and the Missy Elliot throwback we deserved. So how do we follow all that up? With Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z.

Though nothing can be officially confirmed as of yet, the two are reportedly in talks to headline the live show next year.

The last musical collaboration from the two resulted in two bops in 2013: Timberlake’s “Suit & Time” and Jay’s “Holy Grail”. Jay-Z is coming off the release of his album 4:44 and the follow up to Justin’s 20:20 Experience is rumored to be expected around the time of the show so this performance could only be beneficial for the both of them.

However, it is important to note that while JT is a powerhouse of a performer and there is no doubt that he would put on a great show, the last time he was involved with the Super Bowl halftime show was the 2004 performance with Janet Jackson that got her blacklisted from performing at it ever again while Timberlake walked away with no marks to his career, even though the wardrobe malfunction was something out of both of their control.

So how do you feel? Would you be down to watch a halftime show with J²? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!

Super Bowl LII will be held in Minneapolis on Feburary 4th, 2018.
