‘Gambit’ Film Starting Over Thanks To ‘Deadpool’ & ‘Logan’

The little engine that could aka the Gambit solo film starring Channing Tatum still has some fight left in it! We haven’t heard much about the film except that director Doug Liman left the project and when producer Hutch Parker made sure to say the movie was still a priority and that Channing Tatum was still “actively committed” to the movie.

Now we have a statement from lead actor Tatum himself about the movie’s progress and what’s been keeping it from going forward all this time. Check out Tatum’s comments in an interview with HeyYouGuys below:

“We lit a fuse on the first one and just blew it completely out of the water. I think we got lucky – we got hit with some setbacks and it was all for a good reason. We were trying to do something completely different. We were trying to do something that this genre of movie hasn’t seen before. We kept running into the same problems, and then Deadpool and Logan came through and kicked the doors down. Now we’re really getting to do some of the things we’ve always wanted to do with the script – we’ve just sort of started over.”

It looks like Logan and Deadpool’s success is still setting the bar for upcoming comic-book movies, rightfully so. With the extensive amount of X-Men films 20th Century Fox has coming up, its good to see them taking their time to make this project right.

I may be the ONLY one who still cares about this movie, but its lit! Tell us what you think in the comments or on Twitter! No word on when Gambit drops but stay tuned for New Mutants on April 13, 2018
