Tom Vaughan-Lawlor Confirms He’s In ‘Avengers: Infinity War’
Although Avengers: Infinity War is one of the most anticipated movies of 2018, there isn’t a lot of information out there about it, but with these news, we have a little more information.
Tom Vaughan-Lawlor (The Infiltrator, Become Jane and Love/Hate), has revealed in an interview with Dublin Live that he will play a villain in the upcoming Avengers film.
When asked, straight to the point, if he’s part of the film, Vaughan-Lawlor answered the truth, or as much as he can say about it:
“I am. But it’s like I’m one of those ones where you go into a sentence to say something about it and hope you have a job at the end of the sentence. You sign so many documents and waivers and people ask you about it and you have to give the generic and boring ‘I can’t say too much about it’, but I am doing it and it’s really amazing and an amazing thing to be part of.”
Thanks to some recent set photos, many have the theory that Vaughan-Lawlor will play Ebony Maw, as he was photographed grappling with Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) on set, teasing an incapacitated Strange.

Ebony Maw is a strategist in Thanos’ Black Order and is sent to Earth to deal with Doctor Strange before Thanos makes his move to attack the planet. Ebony Maw even gains, briefly, psychic control over Doctor Strange, making him act as a double-agent for the Black Order.
Back in San Diego Comic-Con, those in Hall H and in the convention had the chance to see for the first time the live-action take on the Black Order, with statues of them in the venue and a poster. The Black Order consists of Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight, Ebony Maw and Cull Obsidian (or Black Dwarf in the comics).
Nothing is official or confirmed, but imagining what we might see in the next Avengers film is what makes the wait more bearable.
What do you think about this news? Do you think Tom Vaughan-Lawlor will play Ebony Maw?
