For the first time ever, Naruto fans will get to create and play as their own ninjas in the newest official Naruto game, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Strikers.

Bandai Namco released new information today at Gamescom. The upcoming game is an online multiplayer battle game, in which players can go head to head in matches with up to 8 simultaneous players.

The new “Avatar” system lets players customize their ninjas by looks, but also gives the opportunity to pick fighting speciality, weapons, and ninjutsu styles.

The game takes place after the initial Naruto series, in which Naruto is the Seventh Hokage. In addition to original characters, Naruto favorites like Sasuke, Sakura, and Rock Lee will also be playable across many game modes, including Barrier Battles and Flag Battles. These game modes will also allow players to use their avatars alongside canon characters, making everyone’s middle school fanfiction dreams come true.

Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Strikers ninja runs onto PS4, PC, and Xbox in early 2018.
