According to Variety, The CW is developing a television series that follows the story laid out in Lesley Livingston’s, The Valiant.

Livingston’s book follows the life of a Celtic princess named Fallon who is on the run from an arranged marriage she wants no part in. Eventually, she is captured and forced into slavery under the reign of Julius Caesar.

The only way she can possibly escape is to fight for her freedom.  Fallon and a few of the other young women captured become the first wave of female gladiators set to fight in the Colosseum for glory and liberation.
