With Thor: Ragnarok set to hit the big screen in a few short months, Marvel Studios has released new photos showing familiar characters in unexpected situations.

Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization—at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger—the Incredible Hulk!

The photos offer an early look at director Taika Waititi’s take on the comic book adventure.

Starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Mark Ruffalo, Idris Elba, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Jeff Goldblum and Anthony Hopkins, Thor: Ragnarok smashes into theaters Nov. 3.

Hemsworth, Ruffalo and Thompson will then appear with the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers: Infinity War on May 4, 2018.
