‘We Happy Few’ Coming to Retailers Next Spring

The eerie survival game, We Happy Few, has been available through early-access since 2016 but today released a statement that it will be getting a retail release next year. Gearbox Publishing, the retailer and publisher of the popular game, announced they will be releasing the game on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on April 13, 2018.

Guillaume Provost, studio head of Compulsion Games, released a statement explaining his enthusiasm for the upcoming release:

“Our team was humbled by the initial public reception to We Happy Few, and delighted to have this chance to make it bigger. We’re longtime fans of Borderlands, and we’re excited to be part of a line-up that also includes games like Homeworld and Fortnite. Gearbox believed in us from the very beginning, and we think this partnership will make it possible to create the game that our community expects.”

We Happy Few has been available on Steam Early Access and Xbox One’s Game Preview Program for $29.99. The retail release will cost $59.99, but players who purchased an early access version of We Happy Few will receive the full game at no additional cost. Though, until April, the game will be available for 15% off the retail price ($50.99 USD) The game will feature a full-length story campaign, three playable characters and “more than 250 unique encounters.”
