After a turbulent few weeks of leaks, episode 6 of season 7 of Game of Thrones leaked online, thanks to HBO itself. Earlier today, HBO Spain accidentally broadcast the episode days before its expected Sunday broadcast.
According to HBO,
“We have learned that the upcoming episode of Game of Thrones was accidentally posted for a brief time on the HBO Nordic and HBO España platforms. The error appears to have originated with a third-party vendor and the episode was removed as soon as it was recognized.”
Unlike previous season 7 leaks, this has nothing to do with the “recent cyber incident,” as HBO confirmed. Hackers have already stolen about 1.5 terabytes of data from HBO, resulting in leaked scripts and episode content.
Altogether, this news just means that you should keep being careful avoiding spoilers leading up to this week’s Game of Thrones. Let us know how (and if) you’re avoiding leaks for this season!
