‘Overwatch’ Is Getting Deathmatch And A New Map
Overwatch, a first-person shooter video game with focuses on diversity and intense (but overall fun) team-based gameplay, will be utilizing “Deathmatch modes” which will pit the players against one another until one of them scores 20 points.
Now available on the Windows PC version of the video game, Team Deathmatch will feature the traditional six v. six approach, whereas Deathmatch will use an eight character set-up in a kill or be killed approach and Jeff Kaplan, the game’s director, is certainly excited about the game mode as originally Blizzard “didn’t think Deathmatch was right for the game” but because of the arcade mode it has “opened up our ability as developers to introduce game modes to you guys that we wouldn’t normally fell comfortable putting in the Quick Play or Competitive rotation.”
And, along with the new game modes, a map known as Château Guillard will be released along with them, no official look of the environment has been seen but you can see a snippet from the screenshot below:
Honestly, as a casual player of the video game, I’m excited for these modes. What do you guys think? Are you excited for these modes? What other modes do you think they should implement? Let us know in the comments below!
