Ben Affleck Talks About Joss Whedon and Zack Snyder’s Work on ‘Justice League’

Justice League is going to be the largest cinematographic event for Warner Bros., uniting the heroes of our childhood, Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg (possibly Superman too) against a powerful threat for Earth, Steppenwolf.

Zack Snyder was in charge of the project up until March, when due to a family crisis he decided to stepp down and be with his family. Joss Whedon took over, after being working with them (Warner Bros.) in the reshoots of Justice League and being announced as the director for Batgirl.

In a talk with Entertainment Weekly, Ben Affleck (our Batman) commented on what it was like having that change in the final track of production and postproduction, leading to the premiere of this highly anticipated film.

“It’s a little bit unorthodox. Zack had a family tragedy, and stepped off, which was horrible. For the movie, the best person we could’ve possibly found was Joss. We got really lucky that he stepped in. Is an interesting product of two directors, both with kind of unique visions, both with really strong takes. I’ve never had that experience before making a movie. I have to say, I really love working with Zack, and I really love the stuff we’ve done with Joss.”

As an actor and director, for him, reshoots doesn’t equal trouble.

“I’ve never worked on a movie that didn’t do reshoots. [For] Argo, we did reshoots for a week and a half! Four days on Gone Baby Gone!”

For him, Justice League is going to reflect that DC is getting things finally in order.

“This is a really nice time to work in DC. They’re hitting their stride. They’re getting it right. It’s starting to feel like it’s really working.”

For now, we will have to take Ben’s words on what’s coming, but this reporter has absolute trust in what we’ll see in this film.
