Sense8’s Lana Wachowski, Cast and Crew Thank Fans in Emotional Video
In honor of the sensates’ collective birthday on August 8, Sense8‘s own creator and director Lana Wachowski opened up a touching video thanking the fans for their public and tremendous aid in bringing back the show. Despite the show’s cancellation after two seasons, several petitions from fans and then a public rebuttal from Netflix that they will not be renewing the series, a two-hour finale has been promised.

Wachowski explains that the miracle of this revival is very much due to the show’s fans. “I think it requires a moment to just take a breath, to appreciate it, to look around and admire the holy shitness of it all, because what you fans did was quite frankly unbelievable,” she says.
Throughout the entire video, a slew of cast and crew members from all over the world speak directly to the fans to give their thanks, touched by the passion and amazed that the show resonates with so many people. The 15-minute video includes the cast and crew thanking in a variety of languages and singing aloud to, of course, “What’s Up” by 4 Non Blondes and a whole bunch of personal messages expressing how much the show and the fans’ enthusiasm mean to them.
