Lionsgate Would Like to Make more ‘The Hunger Games’ And ‘Twilight’ Films
Both Twilight and The Hunger Games were a major hit back when YA novels having film adaptations was a thing, each of them earning around $3 billion at international box office, so, in reality, is not surprise to anyone to learn that Lionsgate would like to see more of this franchises.
According to Jon Feltheimer, Lionsgate CEO, the studio isn’t ready to roll the credits on this franchises, however they won’t jump at the opportunity unless they have good material, either new and fresh stories and/or spinoffs, from their creators Stephanie Meyer for Twilight and Suzanne Collins for The Hunger Games.
“There are a lot more stories to be told, and we’re ready to tell them when our creators are ready to tell those stories,”
Interestingly enough, the announcement comes right after Lionsgate decided to take the last part of The Divergent series from the theaters and instead put it on the small screen. Starz is the one responsible for adapting the conclusion of the franchise as a tv series.
