COMICS: ‘Kong On The Planet Of The Apes’ Is Coming To Shelves In November

Planet Of The Apes, a franchise which has crossed over with the likes of the Green Lanterns, Star Trek and Tarzan. Now, the Apes will crossover with a franchise which makes just a bit more sense: King Kong!

Kong On The Planet Of The Apes will be a six-issue mini-series which will be written by Ryan Ferrier and illustrations by Carlos Magno, the events of which will take place after the original 1968 film. Dr. Zaius and General Ursus will lead a small army of ape soldiers into the “Forbidden Zone” to decimate any remaining evidence that Taylor had ever arrived. During their explorative searches, the soldiers discover the body of one of the Kongs, which is only the beginning of an epic adventure which will span the pages.

In an interview with Empire, Ryan Ferrier spoke about the plot and said that after finding the Kong body “Dr. Zaius leads an expedition to the [Skull] Island to uncover the truth about the giant ape.” The series will also explore the various goals of the different characters which will “complement or conflict with their beliefs, both with their faith and science.”

What do you guys think of this news? Are you excited for this series? Who else do you think POTA should crossover with? Let us know in the comments down below!
