After last weeks heartbreaking Game of Thrones episode, many fans have been speculating the return of Ellaria Sand, expecting her to make an escape from the prison we last saw her.

We watched Ellaria’ trip to Dorne with the Greyjoys’ get interrupted by Euron Greyjoy, who took Ellaria, her daughter Tyene, and Yara Greyjoy prisoners back to Cersei Lannister as a gift.

We last saw Ellaria in a dungeon, left to watch Tyene die in front of her, Cersei’s intention for her to watch her poisoned daughter die and rot in front of her until the end of her days, in revenge for the death of her own daughter Myrcella two seasons ago.

Actress Indira Varma herself, provided her insights on the death of her character, to Hollywood Reporter:

“I thought it was a brilliantly cruel end.”

In another conversation with Entertainment Weekly, the actress touched on if she’ll appear on screen once again:

“I stay alive, I’m just not going to reappear.”

Although it seemed the Sand Snakes had no fans, all of them meeting their bitter end was heartbreaking to see the least. The fate of Dorne and their place in the war is now unknown, and we hope Daenerys finds a way to compensate for her great loss.
