James Gunn Has Sights Set on Orginial Guardians of The Galaxy Team

James Gunn is the man behind the current The Guardians of the Galaxy franchise and with an appearance in Avengers: Infinity War and a planned third film to round up their own trilogy, you could say that the characters have been pretty well received. And Gunn already has plans for what he wants to focus on next: another series focusing on a group who protect the universe only this time with the original guardians as the focus.

If you don’t know, The Guardians of the Galaxy debuted in Marvel Super Heroes #18 in 1969 and the main team featured in most of their appearances consisted of Vance Astro, Charlie-27, Starhawk, Nikki, Aleta Ogord and Yondu. Gunn has even already introduced them, the only ones not appearing in GoTG2 being Astro and Nikki. If Marvel (who apparently already have big plans for Slevester Stalone’s Stakar) went ahead and greenlighted the film, it would be titled The Ravagers, allowing the current guardians team to stay in the MCU while also bringing on another team as an original property

Gunn is clearly excited about the chance to introduce people to the team who started it all and he has stated that it is “always a possibility” of bringing these characters to life and since there’s still another GoTG film to be made, the chances of us seeing the Ravagers again is highly likely.

Would you be down to see a film focused on The Ravagers? Tell us how you feel in the comments below!
