Marwan Kenzari Cast As Jafar in Disney’s Live-Action ‘Aladdin’ Remake

After the casting of the upcoming live-action Aladdin remake had been plagued with issues, including claims that the production team was struggling to find MENA actors who could sing and dance to fit the roles, it seems as if things are finally coming together.

Recently, the film cast their leads with Mena Massoud cast as Aladdin, Naomi Scott pegged for Jasmine and Will Smith signed on to play the Genie. Now, we finally have the last lead in the film cast. The nefarious Jafar will be played by Marwan Kenzari.

Kenzari is a Dutch actor of Tunisian descent with recent film credits that include: Ben-Hur, The Promise, The Mummy and the upcoming Murder on the Orient Express.

The Disney flick will be helmed by Sherlock Holmes director, Guy Ritchie with re-writes coming from one of the Game of Thrones writers, Vanessa Taylor.
