John Boyega Says Carrie Fisher’s ‘The Last Jedi’ Send Off is ‘Amazing’

While Star Wars fans are excited to see the next chapter in the franchise, The Last Jedi; they are also sad to know it will be the last time they see Carrie Fisher as Leia.

The legendary actress/writer passed away last December leaving fans across the galaxy heartbroken.

Her Star Wars co-star John Boyega told ABC News that fans will be satisfied with how the film handles such a sensitive subject.

“This movie, it sends her off in an amazing, amazing way,” said Boyega. “And she is still kept alive in this franchise. That’s the beauty of it. She lives forever in a sense.”

“It was a strange, strange feeling. I felt like everyone in the cast went silent for a bit after that,” he said.

The actor will have plenty of great memories of working with his friend on The Last Jedi, since Finn and General Leia had a lot of scenes together.

“We worked together closely on this,” he said.

It was previously announced that Carrie Fisher will not appear in Star Wars Episode IX.
