‘Bumblebee’ Cast, Plot Details Revealed
Though the main Transformers franchise may be on its last legs, the Bumblebee spinoff is still getting a lot of attention.
The 80s set prequel will follow the popular yellow and black transformer on one of his earlier adventures.
Singer/actress Hailee Steinfeld takes the lead in Bumblebee, the latest film in the Transformers franchise.
With production just underway, Paramount Pictures sent out a press release detailing the plot and cast for the upcoming film.
On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.
John Cena will add Bumblebee, to his upcoming releases, which includes Daddy’s Home 2, Ferdinand and The Pact.
WWE Superstar John Cena announced on Twitter that he will also appear in the film. While this is good news for Cena, this is bad news for wrestling fans, as this means the popular star is likely to take another hiatus from the ring.
Directed by Travis Knight and starring Hailee Steinfeld, Pamela Adlon, John Cena, Jorge Lindenborg Jr. and Kenneth Choi, Bumblebee bursts into theaters December 21, 2018.
