‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Domestic Box Office Passes ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ Films
Just in case you need more proof that Spider-Man belonged in the Marvel Cinematic Universe all along. The box office numbers have solidified things.
Spider-Man: Homecoming’s domestic totals have now passed both of Sony’s The Amazing Spider-Man films.
Homecoming currently stands at $262.1 million, making it the fourth highest grossing Spider-Man film. It’s still around $75 million behind Spider-Man 3.
Worldwide it’s still in last place, however, it’s only been in theaters for a short time so those totals will start to rise as it opens in more territories.
As far as other MCU films are concerned, Spider-Man currently stands in ninth place and has a real chance at moving up to seventh, passing the first two Iron Man movies.
Tom Holland’s MCU Peter Parker will next be seen in Avengers: Infinity War, which opens May 4, 2018. He will then return in the sequel to Homecoming, scheduled for July 5, 2019.
