HBO Sets Release Date for Westworld’s Season 2 Premiere
Fans of HBO’s latest hit were understandably taken aback when it was announced Westworld’s second season wouldn’t premiere until 2018. Until now, details on the release date have been kept quiet — the sophomore effort for the sci-fi western will begin airing in Spring 2018.
With production having kicked off a couple of a weeks ago, the silence is warranted. However, HBO was able to debut a bit of footage during San Diego Comic-Con last week.

Details on what Season 2 will entail remain scarce. Earlier this year, executive producers Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan told EW the next chapter of the Westworld narrative would not pick up where it concluded. This seems to suggest the repercussions of Dolores’ confrontation with Robert Ford won’t be immediately felt. If the immediate aftermath is put on display, it will be interesting to see the manner in which it’s integrated. Joy and Nolan’s reveal also raises the question of how the Hosts’ uprising will receive exploration.
