Chris Pine, Patty Jenkins Reunite for TNT Series

Fresh off the success of Wonder Woman, leading man Chris Pine and director Patty Jenkins are getting the band back together for a new TV series.

TNT has ordered One Day She’ll Darken straight to series. It’s based on the autobiography of Fauna Hodel.

According to Variety, “One Day She’ll Darken tells the story of Hodel who was given away by her teenage birth mother to a black restroom attendant in a Nevada casino in 1949. As Hodel begins to investigate the secrets to her past, she follows a sinister trail that swirls ever closer to an infamous Hollywood gynecologist, Dr. George Hodel, a man involved in the darkest Hollywood debauchery, the spider in the web around the legendary “Black Dahlia” murder of Elizabeth Short in Los Angeles in 1947.”

Pine portrays Jay Singletary, a disgraced reporter whose career was ruined by a story on Dr. Hodel. He gets involved in Fauna’s story as a way to clear his name.

Jenkins will direct the pilot and maybe other episodes of the six-hour run.

In recent years TNT has skewed more toward unique, character driven fare with Animal Kingdom, Good Behavior and Claws. The period mystery will certainly fit that new brand.

There is no release date yet for One Day She’ll Darken, but Pine is currently working on the Netflix movie Outlaw King, while Jenkins is expected to return for Wonder Woman 2.

Are you excited to see Chris Pine and Patty Jenkins work together again?
