The announcement that a Halo T.V. series for X-Box Live was in the works was made back in 2013 with an expected release of 2015, but, due to Microsoft shutting the doors of their Entertainment Studios section the year before, most assumed that the series based on the popular first-person shooter game would die with it. However, it’s just been revealed that that isn’t the case and that the project is still moving forward with Stephen Spielberg at its helm.

Microsoft Studios and 343 Industries (the ones who own the Halo brand), talked to AR12Gaming about the fact that while they can’t currently give any real details, they are still working on it with both Showtime and Steven Spielberg’s production company, Amblin Entertainment. Spielberg, even with the task of gearing up for the release of two movies right now, is very excited about the project, sneaking a Halo Assault Rifle into Ready Player One, which can be seen in the first trailer.
