The Flash, a television series which focused on the Scarlet Speedster was generally-acclaimed within its first season. However, the series has managed to falter a bit as it continued but Todd Helbing, season four’s showrunner, is taking the show back to its roots and focusing on one thing in particular: fun.

During an interview with CB, Helbing promises a turnaround from the morose nature of season four. He understands that the last season had a “pall” that he “didn’t expect to be so heavy” and that he thinks that that’s “about as dark as I ever want to go with the show again” and he’s “really excited about the scripts so far; they’re really, really funny.”

What do you guys think? Are you happy that the show is going back to its more fun roots? What do you think about The Thinker being the season four villain? Let us know down in the comments below!
