Before the Star Trek: Discovery Panel began, SDCC convention goers were given a new, full-length trailer for the upcoming CBS: All Access television show.
During the panel, showrunner Alex Kurtzman revealed that the new take on the sci-fi classic will be a little “bit larger than the original series in terms of scope and scale”. This is definitely evident in the trailer, seen above.
The trailer keeps true to reports, focusing on Sonequa Martin-Green’s First Officer Michael Burnham. We also get to see more glimpses of the crew (Rainn Wilson’s Harvey Mudd, Anthony Rapp’s first openly gay character Wilson Cruz, and Jason Isaac’s Captain Gabriel Lorca in particular), a more in-depth look at the Klingons and their way of life, and an all out galactic war.
Star Wars: Discovery will first air on CBS on September 24, then be available on CBS All Access.
