In Ant-Man, it was revealed by Michael Douglas’s Hank Pym that he and Janet were both SHIELD agents using the suits they made to kick ass and take names, for the sake of heroism of course. Everything was fine and dandy until 1987, when The Wasp shrunk herself past the point of no return to stop the missile from hitting its target. Dr. Pym lost his wife and partner and vowed to never shrink that small again. He kept this secret from his daughter, Evangeline Lilly’s Hope Pym. This was ultimately why he never wanted her to take over the Ant-Man or Wasp mantle. As we all saw by the end of Ant-Man, that changes and Hope will don the Wasp costume in 2018’s sequel!

More updates from #SDCC17 on this to come shortly.
