Gugu Mbatha-Raw & David Oyelowo Led ‘Cloverfield’ Film Pushed to 2018

Paramount and J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions moved the third Cloverfield film, from October 27th 2017 to February 2nd 2018.

The science-fiction thriller film was was originally titled as God Particle, and was directed by Julius Onah. It stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, David Oyelowo, Ziyi Zhang, Elizabeth Debicki, Daniel Brül, and Chris O’Dowd.

The story, set in the near future, centres on a team of astronauts on a space station making a terrifying discovery that challenges all they know about the fabric of reality, all while desperately trying to fight for their survival.

The film was in development since 2012, and was later revealed to be part of Abrams Cloverfield universe, 2016’s 10 Cloverfield Lane was a surprise spiritual successor to Cloverfield. It stared Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman, and John Gallagher Jr.

Onah’s film is still under a heavy amount of secrecy, very little is known about the film. What we do know is that we’ve been ready for this film for a while.
