Starfire Joins ‘Injustice 2’ with August DLC Release

With San Diego Comic Con already in full swing, it seems a little hard for any fandom related news to break through the overwhelming amount of information being released. To be blunt, it takes something really awesome to garner fan attention right now, especially when that announcement comes from outside the convention floor.

Never one to back down from a challenge, video game developers NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Games have decided to give it a well-executed shot. In a tweet just this afternoon, the Injustice 2 Twitter page released a new character trailer for a DLC set to premiere this August.

Exciting news in its own right for fans, this DLC features one of the most highly anticipated characters yet to premiere in the Injustice game series – Starfire.

Injustice 2 has been teasing her premiere throughout the summer, alongside announcements of the Red Hood and Sub-Zero DLCs.

Starfire is a much more heroic character than these previous two additions, yet we’re unsure where she stands in this latest DC universe showdown that features Batman and his insurgency of superheroes and supervillains fighting against an evil, tyrannical Superman.

The trailer certainly doesn’t clear up matters. Along with showcasing her powerful combat style and beautifully rendered powers, Starfire can be seen battling against Damian Wayne, the current Robin, Cyborg, and Superman with equal amounts of brute force. Notably, she also condemns Damian Wayne for his accidental murder of Dick Grayson in the first game, meaning that we may be seeing her at the start of a personal vendetta against the Bat-clan.

Of course, this is all speculation. Check out the trailer below, and tell us your thoughts in the comments!
