One Piece To Have Hollywood Live-Action TV Series On The Works

One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda has confirmed today that the hit anime One Piece will be getting a live-action Hollywood treatment.

Yahoo! Japan reports that as part of the 20th anniversary of One Piece, Tomorrow Studios will be overseeing the live action project. Tomorrow Studios is most known for the Fox show Prison Break. Prison Break executive producer Marty Adelstein will also be in charge of One Piece‘s live action series.

According to Comicbook.com, news of the One Piece live-action adaption is something that is beginning to be a common trend in Hollywood. With the announcement of a Cowboy Bebop live action series, as well as the Netflix live-action adaption of Death Note, Hollywood is attempting to be Japanese manga and animation to more Western audiences.
