Telltale Announces New Seasons of Batman, The Wolf Among Us & TWD
After several teases and interviews that seemed to dismiss a few possibilities, Telltale has revealed new seasons of three heavy-hitters. Batman: The Enemy Within, which was recently outed on a ratings listing is indeed their next Batman title. The Wolf Among Us, despite the studio diminishing the likelihood of its return, is finally getting a much deserved second season. And The Walking Dead, inarguably Telltale’s flagship franchise, will receive a fourth run; however, this one will be its last.

With a summer update video, the studio has outlined its plans for the remainder of 2017. In the video, Batman: The Enemy Within gets its first teaser. Interestingly, the Riddler is very much at the fore. Based on the route Telltale took the Bat rogues last season, twists and turns to the canon are expected. The first episode for The Enemy Within debuts on August 8 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Mac; iOS and Android iterations will release at an undisclosed date later this year. Meanwhile, a season pass disc will hit PS4 and Xbox One in October. Check out the synopsis for the latest season below:
“In this latest chapter, both Bruce Wayne and Batman will be forced into precarious new roles. The Riddler has returned to terrorize Gotham City, but his gruesome puzzles merely foreshadow an even greater crisis. With the arrival of a ruthless federal agent and the return of a still nascent Joker, Batman must navigate uneasy alliances while Bruce Wayne undertakes a perilous series of deceptions. Which of Batman’s new allies will you choose to trust? And how deep into the darkness will you let Bruce descend?”

The update video next introduced details on the final season of Telltale’s The Walking Dead. For the third time, Clementine will helm the adventure. Clem’s goal for the fourth season is to find AJ; what she does once they’re reunited will likely carry much of the season forward. TWD doesn’t have a specific release, but it is slated to launch in 2018.

Finally, the video’s last reveal is one fans have been patiently awaiting for three years. The Wolf Among Us Season 2 is happening; it’s arrival is set for 2018. Unfortunately, the studio didn’t offer any footage for the new season. But it’s okay… we can wait — we’ve waited this long, after all. Telltale has made it clear the cliffhanger at the end of Season 1, which won’t be spoiled here, will remain intact. Nothing on that front will receive detail from them. Therefore, fans should keep their self-crafted headcannon in mind when Season 2 begins, as the new story will be removed from the events of Season 1.
