‘Girls Trip’ Director Malcolm D. Lee Signs First-Look Deal With Universal
Fantastic news! Malcolm D. Lee has signed a first-look production deal with Universal Pictures.

Less than a week away from the release of the highly anticipated Girls Trip Universal’s president of production, Peter Cramer, made the announcement that Universal is officially in business with Lee and his production banner Blackmaled Productions. Lee directed and produced Girls Trip, which is his 6th film he distributed with Universal Pictures. Two more films on the way.
“Starting with ‘The Best Man,’ Malcolm has an incredible track record telling resonant stories that make audiences laugh and cry, which he has done brilliantly once again with ‘Girls Trip,’” Cramer said. “We are thrilled to formalize our long-standing relationship with Malcolm by welcoming his company to the lot, and we are excited about making many more films with him, starting with his next film, ‘Night School.'”
Lee’s next directing gig is Night School, starring Kevin Hart.
