The Sorcerer Supreme, a title which has been handed down through the generations to those who show incredible knowledge and enhanced prowess with that of the mystical arts.

Well, it seems as if title will be given (or taken) from Stephen Strange, the current-day specialist of magic, to the half-brother of Thor/frequent adversary of the Avengers: Loki!

According to Donny Cates, the writer taking over Doctor Strange in November, Loki will be the “new sheriff in town… And he’s not really the trustworthy type,” he stated. “That’s right, kids…Loki has taken the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme from our good Doctor! What does that mean for Stephen? And what lengths will Strange go to see his title and his home returned to him? I’ll say this….you can guess all you like, but there is absolutely no way anyone will see the answers to these questions coming. As a dedicated Marvel fan myself, I can confidently say the events of this arc are some of the most shocking things in Marvel comics to date. I’m so excited to see what everyone thinks!”

What do you guys think of this unexpected mantle change? I personally would’ve enjoyed seeing Wanda take on the role of Sorcerer Supreme, but I am interested in this if it follows in the same vein as Infamous Iron Man’s Doctor Doom fiasco! Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
