Lin-Manuel Miranda is Set to Work on the Score for the Live-Action ‘The Little Mermaid’

D23 Expo was full of surprises, and it seems like it’s not over.

After performing some of the classic songs he’s composed for Disney in D23, Alan Menken confirmed that Lin-Manuel Miranda will be working with him in the score for the take in Live-Action form of the Disney classic The Little Mermaid.

“For the live-action Little Mermaid, I’m writing additional songs with lyrics by Hamilton and Moana songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda”

Miranda, a hard-core Disney fan and Broadway sensation, told some time ago that he didn’t knew what his duties where in this Live-Action film:

“I literally don’t have a title for what my job on The Little Mermaid is yet. Right now, it’s the guy who wears the ‘don’t mess it up’ hat. If I could sign a contract with that job title on it, that would be great!”

Right now, it looks like Miranda is great Disney as he is also co-starring with Emily Blunt in Mary Poppins Returns.

What do you think about this news? Do you think we’ll hear new music in the Live-Action of The Little Mermaid?

No date has been announced for The Little Mermaid.
