‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7 Premiere Ratings Soar
After its longest hiatus ever, HBO’s Game of Thrones returned last night and audiences came along with it, giving the show its biggest ratings ever.
Hitting 16.1 million views across all of HBO’s platforms, the series’ highly anticipated return sparked massive excitement all around as audience members tuned in to catch the show’s penultimate season. This season 7 opening rating was a whomping 50% increase from last season’s premiere.

The hour-long episode titled “Dragonstone” even garnered raving positive reviews from critics and it currently holds the show’s very first 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. If that’s not enough to show how hyped everyone was, according to Twitter, the episode was the most-tweeted of all time. It is both exciting and bittersweet as the countdown for the finale approaches. Soon, we’ll learn who will sit on the Iron Throne and reign supreme.
