It’s been eight years since Disney bought Marvel Entertainment (Marvel Comics and Marvel Studios) and in all this years, we’ve been wondering if we were ever going to get a theme park. Well, it looks like the wait is over.

Yesterday, at D23 Expo, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, Bob Chapek, confirmed what have been a rumour for months: There’s going to be a Marvel-themed land in Disney California Adventure Park.

Not much was revealed about the project, only that the first ride of the park, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! will be joined by a Spider-Man and an Avengers attraction in the next few years, in what is expected to be completely immersive Super Hero experience.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! opened earlier this summer at Disney California Adventure, where Tower of Terror ride used to be. The ride requests the attendees to help break out the Guardians team from the Collector’s vault. And, in only two months, the attraction has become the one of the highest-rated attraction.

We still don’t know what the attractions are going to be, and of what will they consist, all we know is that Disney has promised us “a place where [park guests] can team up with [their] favourite Super Heroes like never before.”
