RUMOR ALERT: ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ to Introduce Bill Foster
Despite few hints about its plot, Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp has been drumming up a lot of excitement as of late due to its stellar casting decisions. Not only are T.I., Michael Douglas and Michael Pena returning to the film along with the main cast, but Hannah John-Kamen and Randall Park have also recently been added to this sequel film.
The latest casting news has not officially been confirmed, but it points to another exciting development in the film – the potential introduction to Dr. Bill Foster, also known as Black Goliath.

According to a recent report from That Hashtag Show, Marvel Studios is currently looking to cast a new principal role in the upcoming film. This role calls for a “highly intelligent African-American male between [ages] 55-65.”
Based on Marvel’s comics mythology, this description correlates directly with the well-known character of Dr. Bill Foster, who is a brilliant biochemist and colleague of Hank Pym. Dr. Foster soon gains access to the Pym particles formula and develops the ability to increase and decrease his size at will, thereby becoming a hero in his own right. Throughout his comic book history he has taken on several mantles, such as Giant-Man, before settling on his most iconic role as the Black Goliath.
Hank Pym has long given up his role as Ant-Man in the MCU franchise, and this new role calls for an older man, so it stands to reason that Dr. Foster will also be a retired former hero whose intelligence and experience is being called upon to help the heroic efforts of the Ant-Man team.
There is some additional speculation that this casting call may be for Dr. Adam Brashear, another hero in the comics mythos known as Blue Marvel. Since production for Ant-Man and the Wasp has reportedly just begun in Atlanta, we’ll surely receive a final word on this casting decision in a few short months.
As we wait for more information on the film, let us know what you think! Are you excited to see Ant-Man and the Wasp continue its commitment to diverse casting? For those familiar with Black Goliath, who would you like to see cast in the role?
Ant-Man and the Wasp is set to premiere on July 6, 2018.
