Last week we reported on photos of Doctor Strange being attacked by a mysterious CGI character on the set of Avengers: Infinity War. Since the photos released, analysis of the pictures revealed that the CGI character is none other than Ebony Maw. The clue that discovered the mystery was the name tag “EB-MAW” on the back of the actors CGI suit.

For those not familiar with Ebony Maw, he is a villain who serves underneath Thanos in the Black Order. Ebony Maw is not a fighter, but instead a super genius with the power of persuasion. In the comics, Thanos dispatches Ebony Maw to Earth to manipulate Doctor Strange.

The set photos of Ebony Maw on top of Doctor Strange does not exactly fit the character’s comic book characteristics, but it is very possible Marvel is changing the character in order to fit him into the story. Nonetheless, Ebony Maw is a force to be reckoned with.
