Everyone can relate to having been forced to watch informational PSAs that no one really cared about during high school and Spider-Man: Homecoming brought back that unifiable feeling of wanting to be anywhere but there by using The First Avenger. As seen in the trailers, Captain America dons his old Stars and Stripes uniform and makes appearances throughout the Spider-Man film in the form of PSAs reminding students to be good and respectable upstanding citizens and it would seem that Chris Evans filmed even more of these short clips that we will get to see on the Blu-Ray edition of the movie.
Director Jon Watts remarks:
“We put it together like it was the actual DVD that they show at the school, so it just is clicking from one to another to another. I just wrote pages of them ’cause I had Chris Evans for however amount of time, so I just fed him…I think we had a teleprompter actually, so he was just…it was like Captain America just showed up and had to do this stuff for the government…He’s just reading it off the scrolling thing and being like, ‘Are you sure you want me to say this?”
