CBS Teaming With Michael Jackson Estate for Animated Halloween Special
While Michael Jackson fans have been patiently waiting on a Dangerous 25 project, the King of Pop’s Estate has been working with CBS for an upcoming Halloween special. The one-hour long special is animated, and set to include music from MJ’s vast discography. According to THR, the Halloween-themed program will:
“follow millennials Vincent (MacGyver star Lucas Till) and Victoria (The Flash film’s Kiersey Clemons), who meet “accidentally” on Halloween night and find themselves, along with Ichabod the dog, at a mysterious hotel located at 777 Jackson Street called This Place Hotel. Once inside, Vincent and Victoria go an unexpected, magical adventure of personal discovery, culminating in a spectacular dance finale featuring an animated Jackson.”
The cast features the voices of Christine Baranski, Alan Cumming, George Eads, Brad Garrett, Lucy Liu, and Jim Parsons. Behind the animated special are producers Optimum Production, who created the telecast; Hammerhead leads animation production. Co-executors of the MJ Estate, John Branca and John McClain, are executive producers. Also producing is Daniel Chuba, with directing duties going to Mark A.Z. Dippé.
A release date has yet to be set, but the animated special will air sometime in the fall. Below is a teaser image:
