Daniel Craig Is Set to Return as James Bond; Adele Being Courted for the Theme Tune
After a long list of potential replacements, heated debate about whether Idris Elba could play James Bond or if Tom Hiddleston and Hardy were the better fit; it seems none of that matters, at least not right now. According to The Mirror, Daniel Craig has reportedly agreed to return as James Bond for the 25th film in the franchise. The actor who once claimed he’d rather “slash [his] wrists” when he was asked if he’d return as 007 again seems to have come around to the idea. He also claimed that if he did come back it’d be “for the money”.
Regardless, the plan is to film the movie next year in preparation for a 2019 release date. Adele and Sam Smith both won Oscars for their work on Skyfall and Spectre theme tunes respectively and producer Barbara Broccoli is keen to get Adele back for Bond 25. The Mirror’s source is someone involved in the project who claims:
“Craig and Adele together are the winning team, the ultimate choice, the money spinners. It’s taken time but Daniel has come round and the strong consensus in the Bond offices is that Mr Craig is 007 again. As for Adele, she’s more of an unknown quantity but loved being part of Bond, so the signs are positive.”

Adele is one of the most critically and commercially acclaimed singers in history.
It’s worth noting that Adele has had to cancel the last two dates of her recent tour due to damaged vocal chords and it is not known when she will be performing again or whether returning to the Bond franchise is something that she is interested in at all. However, it is said that producer Barbara Broccoli is “talking the singer round”.
Of course there is still the question of who will be directing and writing, with the rest of the cast all up in the air. We will keep you updated as the news comes in.
Are you excited to see Daniel Craig and Adele team up for another round of Bond?
