The MCU as we know it is coming to an end. Apart of that is the third and final film in the Thor trilogy, Thor: Ragnarok. Directed by Taiki Waititi, Thor: Ragnarok will send the titular character on a final journey to protect Asgard. According to Kevin Feige this film will also directly tie into the next Avengers outing. During an interview with the Toronto Sun, Feige confirmed this is the final film for Thor as well as Thor: Ragnarok directly tying into Avengers: Infinity War.
I think that we are finding ourselves as we complete Phase 3 and finish this 22-movie narrative that it’s working out that way. We did three Iron Man films, three Captain America films, three Thor films. Things change drastically in Ragnarok and then build directly into Infinity War.
Feige definitely teases huge changes to come during Thor: Ragnarok. Although the most exciting news is that presumably the ending of Thor: Ragnarok will help explain how Thor and Hulk return to Earth for Avengers: Infinity War. The film may also have a post credits scene that involves the MCU’s overarching villain, Thanos. It is important to remember that Dcotor Strange will also appear in Thor: Ragnarok and his cameo could serve to introduce him to the Avengers.
Thor: Ragnarok is set to be released in theaters November 3, 2017. Are you excited about this being the last Thor solo outing, or are you upset to see the hero’s solo tales come to an end? Let us know in the comments section below!
