The Jetsons is Getting a Live-Action Reboot
According to recent reports, The Jetsons may be getting a live action reboot from Warner Brothers. TVLine is reporting that Robert Zemeckis is heading the reboot with Family Guy executive producer Gary Ganetti and Jack Rapke. The Jetsons originally ran from 1962 to 1963, and the original series was set in 2062. Reports suggest that the new show will instead be set in in 2118, 100 years from now.
Warner Bros is also working on an animated film of The Jetsons, expected to be a remake of the 1990 Hanna-Barbera film. Matt Lieberman, the writer for the animated Scooby-Doo reboot is writing the script, and Conrad Vernon of Sausage Party is expected to direct.
So far, neither the show nor the film have an expected release date. Are you excited about either the show or the film? Is there any other Boomerang-era show that you’d rather see remade? Let us know!
