With the pressure of two previous franchises, Spider-Man: Homecoming was working against exceedingly high expectations the second it was announced. The inclusion of newbie Tom Holland had fans skeptical of the new saga, until he’s slowly won over their hearts with his inimitable, playful charm. (Seriously, did you see his Lip Sync Battle?)
With the film arriving just around the corner, some have been lucky enough to see it before its July 7 release. Despite everyone’s reluctance to a another new film set in the Spider-Verse, the film has since been met with roaring reviews.
Sony was kind enough to lift the embargo on social media, allowing critics to freely post their opinions on the newest addition to the MCU. Due to the collaboration with Marvel and Sony, there was speculation on how the film would fair, solely based on the successes and failures of the previous franchises. It seems the pairing has done well for Spidey, only heightening the anticipation for its official release in less than a week.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is a blast. It has an innocence that differentiates it from the other MCU movies but plenty of fun & spectacle too.

The praise is similar to the early praise for Wonder Woman, even though levels of doubt were abnormally high due to the constant disappointment of previous DCEU films. The film went on to achieve massive success at the box office, and we’re hoping the new Spider-Man will follow suit.
If anything, these reviews are providing quality reassurance to all MCU fans that the new Spidey will not let you down. The acclaimed Spider-Man: Homecoming will be swinging into theaters soon on July 7.
