On a recent episode of Heroic Insider, Umberto Gonzalez, founder of the online project and host of The Wrap, revealed that the DCEU’s production may increase. As of right now the information is unconfirmed, but based on Gonzalez’s studio insights, he says that production may increase to three or four films a year.

This change would constitute a jump for DC, which just experienced their first critical hit with Wonder Woman. Prior to that, the studio put out Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad; both seemed to skip backstory for the sake of time and catching up to their competitors at the MCU.

With Aquaman being the only film slated for 2018 and Justice League still in the process of reshoots, three movies a year is the reasonable expansion. Should the studio choose to move onto four, however, options abound. These include Gotham City Sirens, Batgirl, Wonder Woman 2, Shazam, Suicide Squad 2, Man of Steel, The Flash, or Green Lantern Corps.

For fans of the DCEU, this is a welcome development! Tell us how you feel about the rumor in the comments below.
