David Oyelowo to Lend His Voice Talents to Disney Junior’s ‘The Lion Guard’ as Scar
Golden Globe nominated actor, David Oyelowo is set to take on the villainous role of Simba’s uncle, Scar on The Lion Guard.
Oyelowo will tackle Scar in the upcoming second season of the Disney Junior series in an episode called, “The Rise of Scar”. Previously, Scar was voiced by Jeremy Irons in the animated film, The Lion King.
It hasn’t yet been revealed how Scar will make his appearance in The Lion Guard. In the 1994 film, Scar met his demise at the hand of the hyenas in the closing act.

Joining Oyelowo with guest voice roles in the new season of the series are Common, AJ McLean, Renee Elise Goldsberry and Sinbad. Returning cast members include Gabrielle Union, Rob Lowe and Max Charles.
